What is a self-priming pump?

A self-priming pump is designed to remove air from the suction line and automatically pump water without manual priming. The pump draws liquid from below and is ideal for applications with varying suction conditions.

What is a Submersible Pump?

A submersible pump operates fully submerged in the liquid being pumped. The motor and pump are sealed, making it suitable for wastewater, drainage, sludge, and deep-well applications.


Submersible drainage pumps with stainless steel impeller, which allows free passage of suspended parts and high performance. Suitable in civil and industrial water systems, for cesspool drainage with dirty and muddy liquids and for waters not cleaned by grid and for particularly aggressive liquids, salt and corrosive.

How Does a Self-Priming Pump Work?

  • The pump casing retains a small volume of water

  • This water mixes with incoming air

  • The pump expels the air/water mixture

  • When all air is removed, normal pumping begins

  • Good for variable suction conditions

  • Ideal for tank emptying and surface-level water

  • Easy maintenance (pump stays above water)

How Does a Submersible Pump Work?

  • The motor is hermetically sealed

  • The impeller rotates underwater

  • Water enters through the bottom and is forced upward

  • Cooling occurs naturally from the surrounding liquid
