Dosing Pumps

Dosing pumps are volumetric pumps designed to inject a precise volume of chemicals into a water stream.

They are essential components in industrial water treatment, cooling towers, boilers, desalination systems, hot water circuits, and process water applications.

A dosing pump ensures the precise injection of chemicals for pH correction, disinfection, corrosion prevention, scale control, or nutrient dosing.

At Advantage Pumps, we supply a full range of dosing pumps and complete dosing systems.

Electromagnetic diaphragm dosing pump

Electromagnetic diaphragm dosing pumps are the most widely used pumps in dosing applications. The combination of an electromagnet and a spring ensures the horizontal forward/backward movement of the diaphragm in the pump chamber. By means of check valves on the suction and discharge sides, the liquid is drawn into the chamber during the return movement and pushed into the discharge side during the outward movement.

These small pumps are available in very economical, simple On/Off models, or with external control options.

Stepper motor diaphragm dosing pump

A stepper motor diaphragm dosing pump has the same operating principle as an electromagnetic diaphragm dosing pump, with the exception that the diaphragm is driven by a stepper motor. The stepper motor can control the diaphragm very precisely, for both the suction and discharge strokes. This ensures a very high turndown ratio, allowing these pumps to accurately dose a very low flow rate.

SmartLinx Series S

  • External control: (analog, pulse, Remote ON/OFF, Level sensor, Modbus)

  • Flow rate: 0,5 mL/h - 60 L/h

  • Turndown ratio: 1:3000

Motor driven dosing pump

Motor-driven dosing pumps feature a replaceable motor that drives a gear mechanism. This gear mechanism can be directly connected to a diaphragm/piston or drive a hydraulic circuit that controls the diaphragm.

These dosing pumps can achieve higher flow rates and pressures.

Typical applications include water treatment, the process industry, and API and ATEX applications.

Peristaltic dosing pump (Hose pump)

Peristaltic dosing pumps operate completely differently from diaphragm dosing pumps. A peristaltic dosing pump has a tube. Inside, rollers rotate circularly. The rollers close the tube, and the circular movement draws in the fluid and pumps it. This type of pump is highly self-priming and has no problems with gaseous or viscous liquids.
